The official technical specifications of the DJI Air 3 have already been (accidentally) published by a dealer and are doing the rounds of the internet. We summarise the most important data.

In recent days and weeks, more and more leaks about the DJI Air 3 have attracted attention. Now a dealer published, presumably by mistake, his product page for the DJI Air 3 including all important technical data. Before the page could be taken offline again, the data was of course discovered and recorded.

The following information is without guarantee and is based on the images published by Jasper Ellens on Twitter. As soon as the DJI Air 3 has been officially presented, we may adjust the data again and add the missing information.

The DJI Air 3’s dual camera system is certainly worth mentioning. This relies on a wide-angle and a telephoto camera, both of which have a 1/1.3 inch CMOS sensor and can record at a maximum of 48MP. They support 4k resolution at up to 100 fps. Compared to the previous model, this is a small step backwards (5.4k resolution) in terms of pure resolution. On the other hand, as with the DJI Mini 3, the dual system can also be rotated by 90° to take lossless vertical shots (in 2.7k resolution) for social media.

The flight time jumps by 48% compared to the predecessor model DJI Air 2S and increases to 46 minutes (under optimal conditions). A value that is more than respectable!

In addition, it is worth mentioning that the Air 3 has an omnidirectional obstacle detection system. This means that it is able to detect obstacles in all directions of flight.

The new leaks also confirmed the first use of DJI’s own Ocusync 4 (O4) video transmission system, which will presumably ensure even better and lower-latency live image transmissions to the remote control.

It is already known from previous leaks that the DJI Air 3 will be delivered with two new remote controls. The DJI RC 2 and the DJI RC-N2.

In the flight and recording modes, we find familiar functions such as Master Shots, Spotlight 2.0, Active Track 5.0 and POI 3.0. Exciting: the DJI Air 3 will have a Waypoint function. This feature is usually only reserved for DJI’s large and expensive models and is often requested and demanded by drone pilots. This feature alone should make the Air 3 very interesting for many!

It is still unclear when the official presentation of the Air 3 will take place. It is not unlikely that it will be in July 2023.
