Quite unexpectedly, the first images and technical data of a DJI Mini 2 SE drone have now surfaced. We summarise for you what the new model will have to offer and where the differences to the existing Mini 2 probably lie.
The first new DJI drone of 2023 will apparently be the DJI Mini 2 SE. A model that no one really had on their radar. But the first leaks show marketing material and the packaging of the Mini 2 SE. So the official release is imminent.
First Mini 2 SE Photos
@DealsDrone, a well-known Twitter user, shared some photos of the upcoming Mini Drone. One of the photos of the packaging shows the following specifications:
- Ultralight and foldable | Less than 249 grams
- 31 minutes flight time | 2.7K video | 10km HD video transmission
- Intuitive controls: One-touch take-off and landing | Stable hover | RTH
- Intelligent functions: QuickShots | Panorama
- 38 km/h (level 5) wind resistance
Differences to the DJI Mini 2
Not all of the DJI Mini 2 SE’s technical specifications are known yet, so the information so far should be taken with a grain of salt.
So far, however, the differences between the Mini 2 (test) and the Mini 2 SE seem to lie in the details. Similar to what was already the case with the Mini SE drone.
So the SE variant will again be a slightly slimmed-down version of the regular Mini 2. While both drones are equipped with the same type of camera (1/2.3″ sensor, 12 MP), there are differences in numerous details – including top speed, climb and descent rates, maximum bit rate and latency. Here, the Mini 2 SE is behind the Mini 2. The Mini 2 SE’s datasheet also indicates that it will use an improved WiFi as its video transmission system, rather than Ocusync 2 or 3.
DJI Mini 2 SE Release Date
Another photo also obviously shows the release date for the DJI Mini 2 SE: 09 February 2023, which is already in 2 days.
So we will soon find out whether the rumours will prove true, as they so often do.
We will continue to keep you up to date on this topic in our blog.
