Want to know if the DJI Mini 4 Pro is waterproof? In this article we give you the answer and more tips about water and the Mini 4 Pro.
DJI Mini 4 Pro waterproof / water resistant?
Is the DJI Mini 4 Pro a waterproof drone? No. As you would expect from DJI, the Mini 4 Pro is not waterproof or water-resistant. Therefore, it is very clear to say: keep your Mini 4 Pro away from water!
This means that extra care should be taken when flying near rivers, lakes and the sea. Under no circumstances should the drone land in water. Although there are cases where a drone survives a fall into the water, it is pure luck. This also has an impact on flights in rain and fog.
Flying the DJI Mini 4 Pro in the rain
Since the Mini 4 is neither waterproof nor water-resistant, you should not fly the drone in the rain. You can find more information on this topic in our article Flying a drone in bad weather – what to consider.
In summary, however, the following can be said from the article: The penetrating moisture from the rain can damage the drone’s electronics just as much as a fall into the water can.
Incidentally, this also applies to flying in fog. If the fog is too thick, moisture can accumulate on the drone and then penetrate the inside of the housing of the DJI Mini 4 Pro like rain and also cause damage.

Protection against water damage
Ideally, Mini 4 Pro drone pilots should avoid water as much as possible. However, if you are planning to fly near or over water, you should think about suitable protection. The in-house DJI Care Refresh comes into question here. This is a type of “comprehensive insurance” that also covers water damage.
Conclusion
If you were hoping that DJI would launch a waterproof or water-resistant drone with the Mini 4 Pro, you will unfortunately be disappointed. The DJI Mini 4 is not waterproof. It should therefore not be landed in water or flown in rain or heavy fog. Even though the drone will not crash at the first drop, you should not take the risk, especially as DJI may refuse to repair the drone if water damage is discovered.
